International Water Treatment Plant Design Expert (m/f/d)

For our project financed by KfW in Iraq which is to start soon, we are looking for a Water Treatment Plant Design Expert with large experience in desalination. The input would be 6 person-months, including 2-3 short missions to Iraq, the rest can be done remotely.

The main part of this project comprises the design and construction supervision of a water treatment plant (WTP) with all required infrastructure (like network rehabilitation / extension, pumping stations, reservoirs, house connections etc.) as well as extensive capacity building for the Al Muthanna Water Directorate (MWD).

The following Project activities shall be financed:

  1. Construction of a water treatment plant to supply potable water to Al Khidr district and ensure operation and maintenance for one year during the Defect Notification Period (DNP) and for one year operation and maintenance (O&M) and spare parts (subject to availability of funds) after the DNP. An additional year of O&M support shall be considered as an option. The required electricity for operation will be provided and paid for from the Iraqi partners as part of the O&M concept;
  2. Disposal of brine (pipeline or other adequate option to be agreed between MoCHMPW, MWD and KfW);
  3. Reservoirs for distribution, pumping stations and enlargement of the existing water distribution network;
  4. Consulting Services including detailed design and construction supervision as well as capacity building for the MWD and the implementation of a roadmap for tariffs.

WTP capacity 35,000 m3/d, treatment technology: RO and membrane filtration, brine disposal methods (high salinity and TDS!)

 

Experience in process calculation and related software
